Steps to Hire
Postdoctoral Resarch Associate
Step 1. Identify the need for a Postdoctoral Research Associate (employee involved in research and who have completed his/her doctorate or terminal degree within the last five (5) years).
Step 2. Identify source of funding.
Step 3. Recruit (no required search process).
Step 4. Select candidate, prepare offer letter (note Postdoctoral Research Associate service should not exceed five (5) years from the date of the initial appointment).
Step 5. Once the offer has been accepted, submit a Background Check request via HireTouch.
Step 6. Initiate the I-9 via Tracker (I-9 Tracker Job Aids). Note the I-9 must be signed by the employee on or before the first day of work and by the hiring unit no later than the third day of work.
Step 7. Upon receipt of the background check clearance email, follow the Onboarding Process and subsequent Human Resources Front End (HRFE) transaction procedures to put the new employee on payroll.
