A valid Illinois Driver's License is required. You must add your driver's license information on your application (page 5 of CS Application Part 2), including the expiration date, to be considered for this position. A copy of both sides of your driver's license must be submitted by the time you submit the exam request, which will be no later than January 18, 2018.
This position does not require the applicant to be present for an exam. However, you must submit an exam request form to be considered. The University will conduct a credential assessment. Your exam score will be based on the application materials submitted.
(a) college/vocational/technical training in telecommunications, electronics engineering/technology, data processing, or a related technical field
(b) work experience in communications, comparable to that gained as a Communications Technician I
2. As required by the employing institution, possession of a valid driver’s license as required by the State of Illinois for the type of motor vehicle(s) to be operated by the incumbent
3. Experience installing and maintaining enterprise-class wireless and data networks for educational or commercial use to compliance with TIA/EIA or NEC standards.
4. Experience with installation, termination, and certification of fiber optic cable.

If an application was previously submitted, an update is still required. A request to create a civil service application will be processed within two (2) business days (Monday - Friday). Your logon information will be e-mailed to you. When you receive your logon information, you can complete your online employment application.
Exam Scoring Information:
You will not be required to report in person for this exam. The updated online application and all uploaded, relevant documents, such as a resume, college transcripts, and/or staff development course listings, will be used in the calculation of the exam score. These documents should be uploaded by the time you submit your exam request.
For this Credential Assessment exam, please remember to include all relevant work experience typically including installing, operating, and maintaining electronic equipment and circuits that are a part of the communication networks.
