What is the Counseling Center?
The Counseling Center is committed to providing a broad range of high quality, innovative, and ethical services that address the psychological, educational, social, and developmental needs of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign students. We also actively contribute to the campus's broader academic mission by training and developing students and professionals, helping build a multicultural learning community, and providing leadership in forming collaborative partnerships among Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, the Graduate College, and Administrative Affairs units. Our staff is comprised of 25 clinical counselors (13 of whom are licensed in the state of Illinois) and many academic and support staff.
During the 2013 – 2014 school year, our outreach activities served more than 22,000 students, faculty, staff, and parents. Outreach events range from our Tuesday @ 7 Workshops, which are lead by Counseling Center Paraprofessionals; to performances by our INNER VOICES Social Issues Theater group; our ACE IT (Alcohol Culture Explored Interactive Theater) sessions for new students; and our Workshops on Request.
