What is the McKinley Health Center?

McKinley Health Center provides high quality, ambulatory care to the campus community. We serve the physical, psychological, and educational needs of students. We offer medical treatment and educational support to further personal wellbeing and academic achievement.

Who can use your services?

Our primary mission is to the students of the university: some emergency care and educational programs are available to employees.

Registered students can utilize all clinical and educational services.

Faculty and staff can receive some services or participate in some programs including:

  • Wellzone check-ups
  • Special Populations Health Fair
  • Diabetes Awareness Event
  • Flu shots

What services do you provide?

McKinley Health Center provides a wide variety of clinical and educational services, including:

Medical Care Clinics
Primary care, lab analysis, and radiology.

Women's Health Clinic
Preventive care, treatment, and management of women's health related issues, with emphasis upon reproductive health.

Mental Health Unit
Evaluation and consultation for emotional and behavioral issues.

Health Education
Outreach workshops and presentations to students, departments, classes, campus organizations, and the Greek system, on a variety of topics including sexual health, stress management, fitness, nutrition, and cross-cultural issues.

Sportwell Center
Located on the 3rd floor of McKinley Health Center. The Sportwell Center helps students maintain healthy, active life styles. Registered dieticians, athletic trainers, exercise physiologists, and physical therapists provide these services:

  • Nutrition counseling
  • Fitness training
  • Physical therapy
  • Athletic injury prevention and treatment

Dial-a-Nurse
Answers students' questions about illnesses, injuries, or other health concerns.

How much do your services cost?

Most services are free to registered students.

Do I need an appointment?

It depends on what service you need. Many services, such as the OASIS and Well-Zone checkups, are available on a drop-in basis. Some services, such as medical services and physical therapy, require an appointment.

What are the Health Center hours?

Academic Year
Monday–Friday: 8 am-5:30 pm
Saturday: 8 am-4:30 pm

Winter and Summer Breaks
Monday-Saturday: 8 am-4:30 pm

Wellness Wednesdays
Graduate student health educators will be on-hand in the ARC Winter Garden to answer your questions and provide educational resources on healthy living topics—including fitness, multi-cultural health, sexual health, nutrition, and stress management.

Second and fourth Wednesday of each month: 5 – 7 p.m.

Well-Zone Check-Ups
McKinley Fitness and Nutrition Peer Educators measure body composition and blood pressure and answer nutrition and fitness questions on the Concourse Level of the ARC.

First and third Wednesday of each month: 5 – 7 p.m.

Special Events
McKinley Health Center works with the CWS on a number of annual events including the Stress-Less Party, Runners Clinic, and Diabetes Awareness Fair. Check the CWS events calendar for upcoming events.
