We believe everyone upon occasion faces problems that can be difficult to resolve. The staff of FSAWS is dedicated to providing quality, confidential assistance to employees and their families who may be experiencing difficulties that impact their lives. This includes assessments, short-term counseling, crisis services and referrals to appropriate resources.

The FSAWS offers this benefit free of charge to all faculty, staff, retirees and family members or significant others living in their household. Additionally we work with supervisors as well as entire departments to develop and maintain a positive work environment. The FSAWS staff is composed of licensed professionals who offer assessment, brief counseling and if necessary, referrals to appropriate resources.

FSAWS can provide counseling services through phone, zoom or in person. The counselor and/or client may request a mask be worn during a session. If individuals are experiencing symptoms, we encourage switching to a virtual appointment. FSAWS is available to address any urgent need or concern of our clients and other stakeholders. Please feel free to contact us at fsas@illinois.edu or 217.244.5312 during our standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. If there is a crisis outside of regular business hours, please call the crisis line at 217.244.7739.
